Meet Danny

Meet Danny

My name is Danny and I was rescued by this group about four years ago.  I had exploratory surgery to remove a lump from my side, and then had to have my shoulder rebuilt.  I stayed with my foster parents for about nine months while I recovered from all my surgeries and then I was adopted by a family I thought would be my “forever” home.  But then disaster struck – my new dad passed away and my new mom just couldn’t handle taking care of me any longer.  I am currently living back with my foster family.  I like it here, but I sure would like to find my true “forever home”!
I'm about 10 years old and being senior I do have a couple little issues. I have a growth on my eye that the vet says needs to be watched and might need to be removed some day.  I have an ear that bothers me from time to time so it needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. I have a cough that the vet says probably comes from previous damage to my trachea. Thunderstorms scare me, but I am learning to tolerate them.  I also have “ouchy” joints, but my foster mom is giving me buffered aspirin for that and I feel MUCH better.

I am a very lovable old man – I can get grumpy from time to time but mostly I just like to “complain” by grumbling.  I am crate trained, housetrained and know a few basic commands.  I really just like to sit by someone to be loved most of the time.   I am up to date on all my veterinary care and just waiting for someone who can love me for the rest of my life.  I'm waiting for my forever home that I can retire with.

Oliver Adopted

Oliver has arrived safely to his forever home in upstate New York.  He made friends quickly by sharing his new toys with his four-legged sisters and giving lots of wiggles of that tail to his people. He has eaten well and even went running at Lake Ontario. Oliver sure is one lucky dog to have such a nice home to "retire" to!

Congrats Oliver on finding your forever home!  We wish you and your family all the best.

Meet Cocoa!

Hi I'm Cocoa! I'm eight-years-old and was given to rescue by my owners because they have fallen on some hard times and need to move to an apartment. I just came into foster care but I can tell you that I'm as sweet as they come! I'll be getting a vet appointment this week and then I'll be ready to go to my own forever home soon enough. Please check back for updates and pictures soon! If you are looking for a nice new mellow best friend, email us at gsprescuenj@hotmail.com and ask for an adoption application.

Meet Olive!

Olive Juice

Hi everyone I'm Olive! I just got to the rescue program last week.  My story is a bit of a mystery because I was found as a stray in the Mount Olive area, hence my fabulous name.  After being picked up as a stray, I was kenneled for 10 days.  My time was running short so on my last day the nice people at Rescue came to save me!  Rescue thought someone might be looking for me and listed me as a found dog.  No one claimed me so I'm ready for a new family and a new start!

I love to play!

I'm very friendly, tiny gal.  I'm only about 35 - 40 lbs, and I'm between 1 and 2-years-old.  My foster mom thinks I'm closer to one because of my super friendly and puppy like personality.  I love my crate and go into it without a problem.  The only time I ever bark in there is when I need to go outside to do my, well you know.  I'm about 90% house broken and my foster mom has really been helping me get the rest down.

Olive, Polly and Sadie sniffing for some critters

When I first came into foster care I was a major counter surfer but I've gotten way better in just a week!  I'm even beginning to learn sit and learning how to walk on a leash.  I'm just so excited to have a warm bed and friends to play with.  Did I mention I love to play!  I get along with my foster sisters and my foster mom's dog Sadie loves to run and romp around the yard with me.  We have a lot of fun.  Polly likes to watch and wag her tail.

Toys!
My foster mom says I'm just a bundle of love.  I'm always happy and wagging my tail.  We can't say for sure if I'm an English Pointer or a German Shorthaired, but they're so close and I'm so nice what does it really matter? I just want to be loved by a family of my own so I can tell them Olive Juice, I mean I love you.

I have all my vetting and was negative on all heartworm, lyme and worm tests.  If you are interested in learning more about me or adopting, please ask for an adoption application at gsprescuenj@hotmail.com.

Meet Buck

Buck-A-Roo

Hi Everybody! My name is Buck and I am a typical 1-year-old GSP. I came from Kansas where I was found as a stray. I am DEFINITELY not in Kansas anymore. I am a Jersey boy now and lovin it! My foster mom takes me running every morning. That's a good thing because I have a lot of energy to get out.

I am a really smart lil boy and with some training, I will be excellent! I already know sit and am working on leash walking, down and come. I know I will get it...it's just so distracting sometimes and I focus on the birds, ducks or the other dogs in the neighborhood! There is just so much to see and learn and I am trying to take it all in. I have a foster brother and sister GSP and I really like them. I also like my human teenager sisters. I am told that I am a sweet lil guy and very handsome too. Heck I knew that already. If you are looking for a young GSP with lots of puppy energy, I am your boy! Please email the volunteers for an adoption application at gsprescuenj@hotmail.com.
